The Pleasure of Nesting Robins

American Robins are so numerous among our human dwellings and a pleasure to share space with. Sometimes they will follow us around the yard when we might be digging something up for them. Right now we can look at a nest on the window ledge next door, but so far they aren't incubating there. Last Saturday we came across a nest in Lake View with the female sitting. She wasn't very concerned and of course our pictures are taken with telephoto lenses from a little distance. Dick took this photo and since she is looking over her shoulder you completely miss the distinctive bright orange front. I used it for a color challenge that also required lifting a page from another digi-scrapper named Trudy.

  1. Nice capture of mother Robin on her nest. Maybe she's just getting in some practice waiting the big event! Love the mask you used, falling petals, and your title. Lovely LO!

  2. What a lovely peaceful page. I feel there ought to be a Do Not Disturb sign on the nest. It´s a very pretty bird even without showing the orange colouring. Your masking follows the untidy outline of the nest beautifully and the swirls seem to be fancifully twirled straws escaping from it.

  3. I've got a nest in my back yard that the birds are still building. It's up pretty high in a tree branch above our back deck. Most of it is hidden by leaves and up too high for me to get a photo with my camera. But I saw the bird up there moving around in it... but not sitting yet. The birds are constantly by my back door... I saw one of them get a worm the other day after a rain. Your page turned out great. Great photo... I like the mask you used ... great page!
