I'm back from a week of intense classes at the Genealogical Institute of Pittsburgh. I took the one called "Law School for Genealogists" and it was a lot to take in and needs lots of follow up time. Still, I packed the beginnings of two small drawings and nearly finished one. Today I added the final touches. It features collage of old books including a bit with the page of 146 and pieces of a photo of a heron or stork. From those come the name. My largest piece to date is coming along well though I didn't like the size when I began. Then I've got the start on that other small piece. Our artist group has another show opening the 2nd of September and I'd like to have all, or mostly, work not yet exhibited. Enjoy!
On a quick glance, I really like this, will be back later when I have more time to explore... magazines going to print this week, so back to the grind-stone... ;)
ReplyDeleteThe colors are so soothing. The heavy lines make me think of book pages. I love all the little details. The frog prince in the upper left is on the rampage... too fun!
ReplyDeleteI can´t see any birds in this. To my eyes it´s nautical so there may be a flying fish in there somewhere. I can see what appears to be a shark and lots of tiny darting fish – even a mermaid - but as with all your mental landscapes I see something different every time I look at it.
