Drawing #32 - Tiger Junction

I'm delighted with the latest large (16x20) drawing. For a mental landscape, it looks rather like a physical landscape as well. Do click on the image to see it larger.
I saw it as being an interface between two states, or a junction. The majority of the collage material is the label in my bread, a multi-grain loaf from a local artisan bakery. I couldn't call this multigrain, but it does contain the letters TIGR, hence the name. It doesn't really have anything to do with tigers and certainly shouldn't seem threatening. I look forward to all your wonderful interpretations as always.

  2. Jean, this is so fantastic! I really love it! I definitely see a loaf of french bread, of course, I did made a gigantic BLT out of one for dinner, so that could be the reason for that, or the fact that you said you used the label from your bread in it, but I prefer french bread to Multi-grain! I have to go look at this up close again, it's just fantastic! I love the colors you used, and all that stuff in the background.... oh, I gotta go look again.... Great job!

  3. When you mentioned states, my first thought was as in states of the USA. My simple mind...LOL! On closer look I see excitement on top of a calm, soothing base. Reminds me of several reactions to a blood pressure med I have been trying this past month. Alone and feeling the need to possibly calling 911 due to extreme weakness causing a state of excitement. But from experience with other reactions, I had to make myself stay calm and relaxed until the threat passed. Love the soft shades of blue...adds a very soothing and a nice calming feeling.

  4. Interesting...just noticed that this looks very much like your LO shown in the sidebar "Tenacity of Oaks". Maybe it is just my simple mind at work again, but like both the drawing and LO!

  5. Laj, what a great insight into my two designs! They really do look very similar in concept but I had not noticed. I am also impressed with your comparison of the "states" in the drawing to what you were experiencing. Hope you are doing better with it!

  6. This is neat. To me it looks like a mountain landscape. Love those bits of brown label!

  7. To me this landscape looks like an old native American settlement up on a rocky hill guarded by a rather fierce looking speckled bird. It´s perched on what may well be the loaf of bread under your label but I prefer to think of it as a smooth rock. On the other hand, it could be a sleeping buffalo. I´d like to climb the hill if I could do it without wakening that slumbering beast. I just hope the natives are friendlier than the bird!

  8. I see the desert - lots of prickly things - decisions to make. (We're in the process of packing and moving from Tucson - do you think this has affected my vision?!! LOL) It's beautiful and so interesting!!
