While I was off at the genealogy conference Dick got to look for and find an uncommon visitor here, an Eared Grebe. They are small diving birds vaguely related to loons. In April it was sporting its spiffy breeding plumage. I used two of his pictures in a copycat or template challenge.

What a beautiful bird this is. I have to admit I´ve never even heard of grebes far less seen any of them. Ditto loons. They look very exotic compared with our local mallards. The background you´ve chosen is a nice watered-down version of the blue green in the photos and I like that equally watery swirl.
ReplyDeleteDick got some great photos and you really did an excellent job showcasing them! Great choices in paper and elements... Fabulous addition to your birding book! I like the way you did the shadows on the small photos... very nice!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Dick kept himself busy birdwatching while you were away. And what perfect photos for this challenge. I have heard of loons, not grebes. Like the flow of the LO presented with the elements chosen...can almost see the motion of the grebes carrying out that flow.
