We had a heavy fall of freezing rain one night and then more snow afterward. There was one cloudy day and then the 22nd was brilliant sun. It turned the miles of ice coated trees and plants to a world of beauty. For the most part we saw little damage but it is a hard time for birds and animals to get through the ice to food. As promised, here are a few of the photos. Note that the ice was prettiest illuminated with the sun behind so it was an interesting trick to photograph it backlit.

Fairyland of Ice indeed. Awesome photos and page...swirling journaling is nice touch, too. I can't say that I have ever seen icicles and snow together as they are in your large photo...what a magical walk you must have had collecting all these photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful ice sculptures. This page makes winter look inviting but I´d still rather view it from indoors than out!
