Welcome to July

I always remember July 1st as my mother's birthday. She would have been 101 today! The weather is beautiful, our house is getting painted (though they knocked off early today and won't be back until Tuesday), and there are scrapbook challenges for a new month. For some reason the color challenge to do a page predominantly yellow made me instantly think of a 40-year-old photo that I have always liked. In the parking lot at the beach on the Virginia shore I wanted to photograph a good-looking Laughing Gull. I threw out a potato chip to lure it closer. Suddenly the sky filled with a whole flock of them. Here is the picture of the first one in a very summery layout.

  1. Wonderful page to start off July Jean! Love the bright yellow and the photo you chose is wonderful! I don't know if I have ever seen a gull like that one! Very cool! Your story of all the gull's coming to see what kind of food you had for them reminded me of my little park where I would share my lunches with the ducks and gulls. Maybe next week I will have to go for a visit to get out of the house. Speaking of houses, I hope you are happy with your house painting... I remember having to paint a garage by my Dad's office when I was a teenager, having to scrape off all the flaky old paint first! What a mess! And I think I got more paint in my hair then I got on the garage!

  2. What a fun LO...yes they will come if you toss out some food...almost attack! Love your title!
